Dr. Renuka Devi Shanmugham, Ph.D is a well experienced and highly recognized Embryologist committed for quality work with ethics and excellent positive outcome with a very high success rate in the ART field.
I began working in clinical embryology from 2007. I am passionate about providing excellent care for couples and creating the “best” and “safest” environment for patients eggs, sperm and pre-embryos that is possible. Over the years, I have noticed that the embryologists within the fertility clinics often work behind closed doors with little to no interaction with patients. We are often detail, time orientated, task driven, highly technical and academic professionals. Our success or failure on a daily basis depends on the quality of eggs produced from different indivduals & sperms chosen to produce healthy embryos, the number of embryos implanted and babies born and so on. I’m providing an inside look at how the embryologists and fertility lab contribute to patients fertility journey. I hope that after reading some of the standards that IVF laboratories adhere to are reassured of the integrity of patient's gametes and that the professionals behind the scenes are invested in the treatment and success.
I hope this insight into the embryology profession reassures both patients & clinicians that there is a laboratory team that is invested in every patient's success and safety. Embryologists are typically task driven and inspired professionals, who always support the fertility journey and success to have a happy & healthy family to those in need.
For anyone undergoing IVF, it’s guaranteed that an embryologist somewhere, at some time, will be a part of the team that makes your miracle happen
Your Safety is Our Highest Concern.
Highlights:
As an embryologist, we’re scientists working behind the scenes directly with couple's eggs, sperm, and embryos. Our partnership with clinicians helps to provide excellent care in creating the best environment for the couple's gamete while they are outside of their body. We are committed to provide the highest quality, evidence-based IVF lab services by our team of skilled embryologists and andrologists.
We as a team of embryologists @ TOT Life Crafters, do freelancing embryology service at various hospitals in and around Tamil Nadu & Andra Pradesh, INDIA. We control the labs at the Dr's office with team of embryologist directing them in the right direction to give quality life creation process.
When a patient go through IVF, the patient likely have to interact with their doctor and the nursing staff a lot. There are consultations, blood tests, follow-ups, and ultrasounds that lead up to egg retrieval. Once the egg retrieval is performed, it’s a matter of weeks until the patient go back into the Dr office for the embryo transfer. After the retrieval it may seem like the doctor “takes it from there”. In reality, the eggs are handed off to a team of highly qualified persons where it is processed and stored under strict guideline procedures. There are four main procedures that an embryologist assists with or performs directly: egg retrieval, ICSI, embryo biopsy & vitrification, and embryo transfer which are explained in-detail in the "Procedure Involved" page. Embryo biopsy is an optional procedure required for couples with genetic defects.
TOT Life Crafters also give complete training on Andrology & Embryology for the staff recruited by the collaborating clinicians.
Individuals interested in specific procedures are also trained based on their request & Experience.
We do welcome interested candidates, train them and give them the opportunity to work in our team of junior embryologists.
